An Interview workshop was held on 3 June with 42 participants from Caritas Francis Hsu College. During the workshop, our Council Members shared with the participants on the techniques for interview, like, Do’s and Don’ts while preparing Covering Letter, CV, Interviews and written tests.  Besides, Council Members pretended to be interviewers in order to allow participants for experiencing in mock interviews.  Recommendations were given by our Council Members afterwards. Feedbacks from participants were positive as they reflected that the workshop aroused the importance of good preparation before interviews and the items should be prepared.

 

To follow the succeed of the event, “The Chief of Social Workers”, held last year, the event “The Chief of Social Workers 2010 – seminar for Social work students” was held in June. The objectives of the event were to enhance students’ understanding and recognition of their remaining study time and the career path after their graduation in order to have an adequate preparation before entering their careers.  Furthermore, we hope that the difficulties and doubts towards the social work field can be resolved by the sharing of frontline social workers.

 

During the Seminar, more than 40 participants from Hong Kong College of Technology were attended.  They were led to deliberate uopn topics regarding the current circumstance of the social welfare field and the development of Social Workers by the sharing and activities conducted by several frontline social workers and young social work students from different organizations.  Our Committee Members were inspired by participants’ active participations. And feedback was positive and most of the participants felt satisfaction on the seminar.  Some topics were highly interested by participants and they would like to go in-depth for investigation, they were, the strategies for planning their career path, the preparation before their placement and the difficult case sharing

 

We hope that the committee can provide different extent of support to social work students from different training institutes with more development opportunities in the future.
